Welcome to EQT REC Center’s dynamic Group Exercise Program. The EQT REC Center is proud to host classes for all age groups ranging from “Kids Fit” to “Active For Life” classes. We host a variety of class types from high-intensity interval programs, yoga classes, chair-based exercise programs, and so many more. The REC Center offers a class for everyone!

PiYO is a low-impact, high-intensity workout inspired by the best of Pilates and Yoga. Continuous dynamic movement during PiYO will increase strength, stability, stamina, and flexibility. You’ll stretch and strengthen every muscle with body weight exercises and burn calories with non stop movement. All fitness levels are welcome and modifications are demonstrated to help you kick it up a notch or tone it down. Get long, lean, sculpted muscles with PiYO Live.
TOTAL BODY BLAST
This hour long class is fast-paced and will offer unique blend of strength and endurance training as well as aerobic and anaerobic conditioning. Dumbbells and body bars will be used to increase the difficulty level. The instructor will lead participants in a boot-camp style class that is sure to get the hear-rate up while also giving the member a full body workout! Please arrive at least 5 minutes before class to set up equipment.

CHAIR YOGA WITH WEIGHTS
We will use gentle movements coordinated with breathing while seated on a chair. Light handheld weights are added to some poses for additional strengthening. The many benefits of Yoga include lengthening of the sine for breathing, joint flexibility, and building strength. This class is recommended for anyone who is unable to get down onto the floor.
Zumba® is a Latin and World music inspired dance fitness party that changed the way we look at a “workout” forever. It’s fun, effective, and brings people together to sweat it on without the “work” of a workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check. Expect a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. No dance experience necessary.
Takes the popular Latin-dance inspired workout of Zumba and makes it accessible for seniors, beginners or others needing modifications in their exercise routine. Zumba Gold builds cardiovascular health by challenging the heart and working the muscles of the hips, legs and arms with dance moves. Class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance! No dance experience necessary.
FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH/ ENDURANCE
This group training session will begin with a Dynamic warm up and transition to an interval based workout that will focus on improving range of motion, balance, and flexibility while gaining strength and raising endurance levels. Functional training will be similar to the basic movements of life we experience in our everyday activities. These movements include squatting, lunging, hinging and bridging of the hips, and pushing and pulling exercises.
A fun, energetic, workout that fuses techniques from Dance, Pilates, and Yoga that will tone, define and chisel the whole body. It is a combination of strength and flexibility with an added cardiovascular element adaptable for all fitness levels!
Drumming is a full-body workout that combines light resistance, cardio, and drumming using a ball and drumsticks. It will create one of the most fun workouts you will ever do by taking a simple movement(drumming) and turning it into a workout that will leave you sweating and having fun. Among the benefits of drumming is its accessibility of age groups and fitness levels. It will increase your heart rate, help you burn hundreds of calories, help strengthen many muscle groups, improve coordination and focus and bring out the rockstar in you.

When seniors exercise regularly in a group setting, they gain social interaction, motivation, and the physical benefits necessary to stay active and engaged in their community.
ACTIVE FOR LIFE
This class is a blend of gentle, low impact strength and cardio exercises to keep you moving and healthy. Light flexibility and balance training will also be incorporated. Modifications using a chair, resistance, and support can be utilized as needed.
SENIOR STRENGTH AND CARDIO
Have fun and move to the music! Senior Strength and Cardio incorporates a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities for your daily living. Hand held weights, elastic tubing, and an exercise ball is offered for resistance.
